Awards & Grants That Move the Field Forward

Objective: To underscore the importance of furthering research in wound healing by recognizing top young researchers and facilitating the presentation and scientific discussion of new discoveries.

Award: Up to $1,000 to help defray Annual Meeting costs. Each winner receives a $500 award and certificate. The top four presentation award recipients receive an additional $500. The first-place winner is invited to present at the next European Tissue Repair Society meeting. Qualifications:

Must be a Young Investigator (undergraduate, graduate, professional student, or post-PhD fellow/resident/specialty trainee)

Must be first author of the submitted abstract Must be a WHS member or apply for membership upon abstract acceptance

Must answer qualification questions during the abstract submission process

Prior top-4 YI finalists from the last three years are ineligible Selection: The Program Committee ranks all abstracts; the top 20 from Young Investigators are referred to the Awards Committee for selection of 8 finalists. Finalists present at the YI Session; winners are selected by vetted judges with no conflicts of interest.

Award Presentation: Presented at the Annual Meeting Awards Ceremony. Winners must be present.
