Awards & Grants That Move the Field Forward

Objective:

• Recognize promising young scientists and foster scientific dialogue around their innovations
• Top-scoring individuals present their abstract in the YI podium session.

Award Details

• Each winner receives $500 and certificate.
• Top four (4) presentations receive additional $500.
• 1st place is invited to present at the next European Tissue Repair Society annual meeting.

Eligibility

1. Must check correct box during abstract submission
2. Must be a trainee (faculty or equivalent not eligible) at time of application.
3. Must be first author
4. Must be a WHS member upon abstract acceptance.
5. Prior YI finalists (top 4) and projects from the last 3 years are ineligible.

Award Progress

1. Awards Committee selects 8 finalists from top 20 YI abstracts. Multiple finalists from same lab group allowed if no significant project overlap.
2. Finalists must present at the Young Investigator Session at the Annual Meeting.
3. Winners selected by on site scoring of YI Session podium presentations, by vetted judges with no conflicts of interest.
