Robert Kirsner

University of Miami

Dr. Kirsner is Chairman and the endowed Harvey Blank Chair in the Dr. Phillip Frost Dermatology in the Department of Dermatology and Cutaneous Surgery and Professor of Public Health Sciences at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.

Chandan Sen, PhD

University of Pittsburgh

Dr. Chandan K. Sen, PhD, FNAI is the Bartley P. Griffith Chair of Regenerative Medicine and serves as Director of the McGowan Institute for Regenerative Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Sen is also the Editor of Advances in Wound Care, top-ranked journal in wound care by impact factor.
VICE PRESIDENT

William A Marston, MD

University of Pittsburgh

Dr. Marston is Professor of Vascular Surgery and Associate Chair of Research for the Department of Surgery at the University of North Carolina. His research interests include the management of chronic venous insufficiency, and advanced therapies for healing chronic wounds. He is past President of the Southern Association for Vascular Surgery and the American Venous Forum.

Susan W. Volk
VMD, PhD, Dipl ACVS

University of Pennsylvania

Susan W. Volk, VMD, PhD, is the Corinne R. and Henry Bower Professor of Small Animal Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania, where her translational research program spans wound healing, surgical repair, and tumor microenvironments across discovery science through clinical trials. A WHS member since 2005 and current president of the Society, she has served two terms on the Board of Directors, chaired the International and Sister Society Committee for nearly a decade, and contributed to the Annual Meeting every year as presenter, moderator, and judge.
Secretary

Brian Eliceiri

University of California, San Diego

Dr. Eliceiri is a Professor at the University of California San Diego, studying the biology of intercellular communication mediated by extracellular vesicles, focusing on defined payloads that promote wound healing. He has Chaired an Annual WHS Meeting, the Publications Committee, the Membership Committee, and been a WHS Board member.
Treasurer

Kyle Quinn

Tufts University

Kyle P. Quinn, PhD, is a Professor at Tufts University and Director of the Tufts Advanced Microscopic Imaging Center. His lab uses label-free multiphoton microscopy and AI-powered image analysis to study wound healing and aging. He has previously chaired the WHS Communications, Membership, and Program Committees.

Foy White-Chu

Dr. White‑Chu is an Associate Professor at OHSU and Medical Director of the Wound Healing Program at the Portland VA. She cares for veterans with complex chronic wounds and leads national wound‑care policy efforts. Her work focuses on simplifying geriatric wound care for frontline clinicians.

Lindsay Kalan

Lindsay Kalan, PhD is a Canada Research Chair in Skin Microbiome and Infectious Disease at McMaster University. Dr. Kalan’s lab employs interdisciplinary approaches, including metagenomics, microbial culturing, and ex vivo skin models, to investigate microbial interactions and develop strategies for promoting wound healing and combating infections.

Kellen Chen

Dr. Kellen Chen is an Associate Professor at the University of Arizona, researching wound healing, fibrosis, and regeneration. I have co-authored first&senior author publications in journals such as WRR, Sci Transl Med, Nat BME, and JID. I am highly interested in contributing to the future success of the WHS. I am the co-chair for the Publications Committee, on the Program Committee, a WHS Associate Fellow, and won the Young Investigator’s Award in 2022.

Ana Tellechea

Trained at Harvard Medical School and NYU School of Medicine, Dr. Tellechea is a translational wound-healing scientist serving as Director of Product Development at Gel4Med. She leads the development, regulatory strategy, and clinical advancement of biomimetic technologies for complex wounds, bridging scientific innovation with surgical needs to improve patient outcomes.

Manuela Martins-Green

Manuela Martins-Green is a Professor of Cell Biology at the University of California, Riverside. Originally from Portugal, she came to the U.S. on a Fulbright Fellowship and earned her PhD from UC Davis. Her research focuses on the initiation and progression of chronic wounds, and she has been on the UC Riverside faculty since 1993.

Rivka Stone

Rivka Stone, MD, PhD, is an Associate Professor of Dermatology at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. A physician‑scientist and dermatologist, she leads an NIH-funded translational research program in wound healing and skin fibrosis and is deeply engaged in mentoring aspiring physician‑scientists.

Ivan Jozic

Dr. Jozic is a Research Associate Professor at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. His laboratory investigates mechanisms of wound healing, skin aging, and chronic inflammation, integrating translational models, advanced biomarker discovery, and therapeutic development to improve outcomes in complex skin wounds.
